Tuscany Study 2012: June 10-24, Landscape Painting & Stone Sculpture

Tuscany Study is pleased to announce its 2-week workshop this summer from June 10-24.  This trip never ceases to be a magical experience for both painters and sculptors.  It is designed to expose participants to daily, intensive instruction while immersed in an inspiring atmosphere.  Participants will develop their artwork while soaking up local culture, cuisine, and the artistic treasures that fill our history books.  Enrollment is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.  More information can be found here.

This summer Caitlin Hurd will join our roster of accomplished painters who have taught landscape painting with Tuscany Study (previous instructors include John Jacobsmeyer and Alyssa Monks). Northern Tuscany, particularly the region that shares proximity to both the mountains and sea, offers an extremely vivid and lively painting environment where artists can find inspiration in the variegated colors and textures of both rural and urban areas.  Check out the course description here and photos from past trips.

Stephen Shaheen will be teaching both beginners and advances students the lost art of marble carving.  This year, the  studio has upgraded its facilities to include eight new work stations, equipped with air hoses and power supplies.  The mountains where Michelangelo quarried his marble rise in the distance above the balmy courtyard where we sculpt each day.  And there's nothing like sipping chilled vermentino white wine on the Mediterranean at sunset after a long day of carving.
